boy it's really become dead quiet in these boards huh?
I just listened to this episode. first off, I always love it when people rip on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's such a goof. I despise it so much. The fact that there is a Hall of Fame for music is just ludicrous. I would have no problem with a museum with things like old stage costumes, instruments, hand-written lyrics, etc. But the idea that you have to be deemed worthy of inclusion by Jann Wenner and his snob friends is just a joke.
the other thing about this episode (that really has nothing to do with this episode) is I can't believe Pat and Mike both think All That You Can't Leave Behind is U2's best album. That's shocking to me. I'd have to give it to The Joshua Tree. I feel like everything after that album was just a little less interesting. They can still pump out a good 2-3 good songs per album but Joshua Tree definitely feels like their peak to me.
Agree 100000% on the Hall Of Fame. Couldn't care less about it.
And yeah, the board is pretty dead. Every once in awhile I try to put up some stuff to get things going ( like my Best of 2014 list ), but Facebook has really cornered the market on chat. I keep the board up anyway - doesn't cost anything.
