You beat me to it, Tom! ( I went ahead & edited the title of the thread so it's got all the episode info. Just FYI. )
I've always had a different name for the topic of this thread, & it's a phrase that was actually used a bunch of times in the episode. I just call 'em "Perfect Songs"...literally, a tune you would not change ONE thing about.
Totally on board with April's pick of that Electronic record. I also love this one :
Other thoughts...that Neil Diamond version of "River Deep – Mountain High" was fuggin' DREADFUL. I also didn't know that "Sleeping With The Television On" was a Billy Joel tune. I know it via this cover version from my man Kurt Baker :
Also, I'd forgotten what a great f-ing song "Fall On Me" is.
Train in Vain is absolutely my favorite Clash song. I want to cover it so bad, but the bands I am in usually are not for it. I have to say I like Split Enz better!! I could also listen to She's Tight on a loop, I might have done so for a few days once.
The list of albums I could put in this category is pretty long, there have been times in my life when albums didn't leave my player of choice for 6 weeks or more some of them being: Queensryche Operation Mindcrime, Judas Priest Painkiller, Tori Amos Little Earthquakes, Erykah Badu Baduizm and I could keep going but I think the picture is made.
I love the rap/hip hop input The Atlanta rap collective that April played that I can't remember the name of right now was really good.
My favorite song of all time is a Judas Priest song called Dreamer Deceiver and if I was told there was only one song left and I could pick it that would be it.

I listened to the bejeezus out of "Mindcrime" when it came out. Another full album that never left the cassette deck/CD player was "Nothing's Shocking" by Jane's Addiction. Couldn't tell you how many times I heard that record from 1988-90 ish.
The 2 Songs that come to mind immediately for me are
Novotel-Adam Green -my Harddrive has been deleted a few times so I don't have an accurate count on this one but I'm fairly certain at its peek I had listened to this over 500xs. doesn't hurt that it is fairly short.
And
Life on Mars-David Bowie
As for albums Ellis Paul's the Day After Everything Changed, the Civil Wars' Barton Hollow, Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and David Bowie's Hunky Dory, I could probably listen to on repeat forever.

Were you an Ellis Paul fan before hearing about him on NNF?
I was not, but I thought he was great on NNF so I bought that album and a few others and loved it (I am currently very excited for his new album which I supported on his pledge campaign.) I liked folk music before then I just didn't really dive very far into it
I've seen him live a few times and I mentioned to him that I heard him first on NNF and became a fan after that and he seemed very excited about that and spoke really highly of Jimmy so that was kind of neat.

My two songs would be "Twilight Zone" from Golden Earring (loved it when I first heard it at nine) and "Go With the Flow" by Queens of the Stone Age.
Albums include Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" (have purchased 5 copies on cd before buring to pc became an option) and Guano Apes "Don't Give Me Names". Guano Apes never hit it big in here, but were big in Europe. They did a great cover of Big In Japan!!!!
The new Nicole Atkins album "Slow Phaser" is now offically in Mental Patient status. It is sooo good!!!!!
