I've been buying a lot of old stuff. Does that count? I guess it does. This is for everything you're buying in 2015, right? Well here goes. Most of this is from ebay so i'm getting stuff cheap.
Van Halen: Best of Both Worlds (didn't really want it, certainly didn't need it. but found it for really cheap.) Eddie Murphy: Eddie Murphy (his first comedy album…. had the vinyl, bought this CD.) Models: Out of Mind, Out of Sight (good new wave australian band. Had this on cassette found the CD on ebay) R.E.M.: Dead Letter Office, Reckoning, Fables of the Reconstruction, Lifes Rich Pageant, Document (had Eponymous but no other early R.E.M. after the Rock Solid episode I grabbed it all up. Always forget how much I like them) Tuesday Blue: Shibumi (another alt rock band I had the cassette of. Found this CD new and still in the CD Long Box - remember those? - on ebay. was a trip opening that long box up. been a long time since I did that) Go-Go's: Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's (again, found cheap on ebay. some cool pre-record label garage punk on this) Various Artists: D.I.Y.: Mass Ave - Boston (a good Boston punk comp.) Billy Joel: Glass Houses (got a little nostalgic for the first music I ever bought. This was one of the those. Back then it was cassette. Now it's CD.) Stone Roses: Stone Roses (don't know why I never knew of this back in day) John Mellencamp: Scarecrow (similar story: had the cassette, found the CD cheap on ebay.) Razorlight: Razorlight (someone once gave me a copy of this, finally got around to getting my own physical CD) Saturday Looks Good To Me: All Your Summers Songs (a song of theirs I liked a lot "Alcohol" was on a sampler. Decided to give the album a shot. Not that great.) Sugar: Copper Blue Scarlett Johansson: Anywhere I lay My Head (I liked some of her Tom Waits covers. I always think other people's versions of his songs are better than his.) Queen: The Game (see Billy Joel: Glass Houses) Screaming Females: Rose Mountain (I think best rock guitar player around right now) Prodigy: Fat of the Land (I know… always liked this, never owned. Got it for like $2.) Tilly and the Wall: O (like this band a lot.) The Who: Who's Last (My first favorite band. I'm a completist I guess. It's really not a bad live album.) Fiona Apple: Tidal Ziggy Marley & Melody Makers: Free Like We Want 2 B (had the CD, found the vinyl for $20 - didn't even know this was released on vinyl. great reggae album.) Richard Hell & Voidoids: Blank Generation (not sure why I never picked this up.) Red Hot Chili Peppers: Uplift Mofo Party Plan (replacing my regular CD with the "Special Edition.") Iggy Pop: Blah Blah Blah INXS: Shabooh Shoobah (always forget what a good band they were, too) Chairlift: Something Aerosmith: Greatest Hits (see Billy Joel: Glass Houses) Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine Ziggy Marley & Melody Makers: Live Volume 1 (wish they would get back together) National Lampoon: Lemmings (have the vinyl, bought the CD)

The Models! We used to play the title track from that one back in my radio days. Haven't heard that tune in FOREVER. I always thought it was gonna be a hit, but it never really took off.
And speaking of Australia, "Shabooh" is my favorite INXS album. I have it on CD now, but I wore the cassette of that thing out back in the 80's.
There's a lot of cool stuff in that list - & yeah, the idea is to just track everything you buy this year.
Just went a little nuts (again) and bought bunch more….
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Red Hot Chili Peppers & Freaky Styley (never dug back in their catalog beyond Uplift Mofo, thought it was time I did. Got em pretty cheap on Deep Discount) Television: Marquee Moon & Adventure (upgraded to the "bonus tracks" versions) The Clash: The Clash & Give Em Enough Rope & Sandinista! & Combat Rock & Super Black Market (again, hadn't dug deep into their catalog and thought it was time I did. Got em all cheap on ebay) Stephen Makmus: Stephen Malkmus (had one track from this "The Hook" great song, found this in record store in South Carolina next to hotel I was staying in for work.) JEFF the Brotherhood: We Are The Champions (found in same South Carolina store) The Cars: Candy-O (only album of theirs I didn't have, found in Athens, GA record store I was working near. Same record store Peter Buck from REM used to work at apparently) The Virgins: The Virgins (got this cheap off ebay, based on song April Richardson gave away free on her monthly playlist)

Yeah i've always liked them but never dug deep into their catalog. I've just been listening the last 2 days with iTunes on shuffle and like everything i've heard so far. I think people forget or don't realize how diverse they were. lotsa different sounds.
This should be my last post for a little while. Gotta ease up on buying music….
went to the local flea market and found these CDs for $2 each: Pete Townshend/White City Red Hot Chili Peppers/Californication Roxy Music/Avalon
then stopped in for my once-a-year visit to Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank, NJ. These CDs were all $4 each: Sly & Family Stone/Greatest Hits La Sera/Hour of the Dawn Ages And Ages/Divisonary Florence & the Machine/Lungs The Futureheads/self-titled Dead Kennedys/Give Me Convenience… Siouxsie & Banshees/Twice Upon A Time The Gossip/Standing In The Way of Control

I couldn't pass up a 15% Off deal on Deep Discount last weekend. Got:
Velvet Underground: …and Nico, White Light/White Heat, V/U, Loaded (how could I not they were only $4 after discount brand new!)
Van Halen: Live Tokyo Dome (only $9 after discount. I know I'm not gonna like it but I'm a hardcore VH fan since 1982. I told myself I wouldn't buy it but knew sooner or later I would.)
then today visited this small record shop called Holdfast in Asbury Park, NJ and for $4/Used each got:
Might Diamonds/Speak the Truth
The Dils/Classic War
Simple Minds/Sparkle in the Rain
OK now THIS should be my last post for awhile…… I hope.
Well to finish off the year here's what I've bought since last post in May:
Priscilla Ahn/A Good Day Dire Straits/Making Movies (directly because of the Dire Straits episode of Rock Solid) The Vaccines/Come Of Age The Alley Cats/Best Of Florence + The Machine/How Big How Blue How Beautiful Simple Minds/New Gold Dream (continuing my filling out of their back catalog) Those Dancing Days/In Our Space Hero Suits Prince/Around The World In A Day Pete Townshend/All The Best Cowboys... [VINYL] Shriekback/Oil & Gold [VINYL] Toots & Maytals/Funky Kingston [VINYL] Dead Milkmen/Big Lizard [VINYL] The Go! Team/The Scene Between (I had kinda given up on them after their last record, but I bought this on a whim while stopping at record store on my travels through Houston. Love this record. Might be my favorite of 2015) Karen O/Live From Crush Palace Ross Johnson/Make It Stop (visited a friend in Memphis. We stopped in Goner Records. Picked this up after hearing one tune. It's not that great) David + David/Boomtown (had this on cassette in the 80s. Finally found it cheap on CD) Devo/Greatest Hits Psychedelic Furs/Book of Days Blondie/Parallel Lines (2001 Remaster) Bow Wow Wow/Best Of (took a chance on this CD for just 95 cents. This band was a lot better than I expected.) Tilly & The Wall/Wild Like Children Jimmy Cliff/Special Blondie/Blondie (2001 Remaster) Ouija Radio/Oh No... Yes! Yes! Bishop Allen/Charm School The Hooters/One Way Home (see David + David) Supertramp/Greatest Hits (ear worm tunes) No Doubt/Push & Shove (completist purchase at just $1.95) Roxy Music/Avalon Blondie/Autoamerican (2001 Remaster) Blondie/Eat to the Beat (2001 Remaster) Blondie/Plastic Letters (2001 Remaster)
So I've been traveling for work since end of July. Been based in Baton Rouge. Every weekend I would take road trips. Houston, Dallas, Austin, Gulf Shores, Memphis, Nashville, etc. Everywhere I go I always look for record stores to check out. In Tennessee if you're ever there there's a great chain of 3 stores called McKay's. It's like a big warehouse of used books, DVDs, CDs, video games, vinyl. It's insane. I stopped at the one in Nashville and Knoxville. The 3rd is in Chattanooga. I almost stopped there too. But I felt I was getting carried away. Found CDs for as low as 25 cents. Seriously.

damn looking over my posts from earlier in the year I realize I bought a second copy of Roxy Music/Avalon recently. I'm in process of moving so all my music is boxed up. I didn't realize I already had it on CD. Oh well. It was cheap.
That's funny - we were literally talking about that idea like, 10 minutes ago. I think I've only had the "Crap, I already own this" thing once. I bought Ramones "Pleasant Dreams" on CD thinking it was one I hadn't upgraded from vinyl yet.
