I saw the Stones on the Steel Wheels tour in Philly. Pretty good show. I was never a big fan. I sided with The Who when it comes to those early British bands…..
ticket prices are nuts these days. At least big arena shows. Most of the shows on my sked coming up are at smaller places like Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes and Brighton Bar all on Jersey Shore.
here's my sked:
4/04 Screaming Females (one of the best guitar players around right now)
4/09 Dash Rip Rock
4/10 Robby Kreiger
4/12 Suicide Machines
4/17 Buzz****s
5/09 Replacements
5/16 Agent Orange
5/22 Primal Scream
6/09 Kooks
I think Westerberg realizes this is the last go-round, & if they were ever gonna ditch the self-destructiveness now's the time. And they're old, fer Chrissakes.
Also - I've been surprised at the lack of bootlegs I've seen for these newest Mats shows.
awesome to hear Tom. can't wait. I'm going May 9th. Looking forward to it. don't know why I never got around to seeing them back in their "drunk" days.....
In their 83-87 prime, Gawd only knows how many times the Replacements played either Kansas City or Lawrence, KS. I lived in southeast Kansas then, but really had no idea about cool shows. Even though I was a Replacements fan then.
When I think back to all the shows I could've seen had I just known about them...

I hear ya MonoStereo. I grew up right near the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Every cool alternative band in late 80s/early 90s played there. But we never went to shows there. We'd go se Dramarama when they played there but no one else. It kills me to think of all the show I missed there that I could'e easily gone to had I just paid attention more. Oh well. I guess that's why now I try to go to as many shows I can, even if I only know 1-2 songs by the band, even if I can't find someone else to go with so I gotta go solo....

i saw Ed, AL & Wolfgang have been rehearsing things like Drop Dead Legs, In A Simple Rhyme and Dirty Movies…. only problem is: will Dave agree to sing them? Last tour the band sound checked As Is and Light Up The Sky but Dave for whatever reason didn't want to sing them. There's an interview somewhere where Ed says the band's ready to play whatever it's Dave's decision if he's gonna sing them.
I'd hold of until the first 1-2 shows if you're on the fence. See what the set lists look like. Although I'm still kicking myself for not taking the leap and getting tix to Red Rocks when I had the chance with Amex pre-sale.
This Weekend I got my Replacements show. Can't wait…...
Tom -- saw the Replacements last night in Philly. Great show. really good set list. Also I bought the poster for the event (been on a kick of buying concert posters lately.) The dude messed up and gave me 2 for the price of 1.
