but i do remember that first time they did a live recording (the "goodbyes" episode where both Gary & Matt announced they were leaving) I remember the show seeming awkward live.
Have they done another live recording since? I can't remember.

Didn't they do the Springsteen show live at a comedy club?

I also wish I was going to Sketchfest. One of these days...

yeah at first i thought the "goodbyes" episode was the only one but then the Springsteen puppet one crossed my mind.

That one went off pretty good. the "Goodbyes" episode I remember thinking would've been better if it wasn't live. It didn't feel like they had their **** together for a live recording. It seemed awkward to be playing tunes in between some banter. I'm sure a lot fell on an audience that really weren't familiar with the podcast (from what I remember it was taped at a Podcast Fest where people were just kinda popping in on podcasts recording.) Plus the addition that Pat was kind of blindsided by Gary and Matt's announcements.....

ugh Sammy Hagar. I'm behind on listening to episodes since I've been on road working but I think it's safe to say that SketchFest/Sammy Hagar might be the first episode I pass on listening to. Even my dislike for KISS made me not want to listen to all these KISS episodes but I will. But I can't listen to Hagar go on and on with all his revisionist VH history. He just annoys the hell out of me.

It's a pretty good-sized get for the show, though. So that's good news.

And if you enjoy Pardo, you'll enjoy those KISS shows. Tons of funny grabass in 'em.

i agree for Pat it's a good guest to book. I just personally can't stand listening to Hagar talk. He grates on my ears.
I imagine the KISS episodes are amusing. I'm mostly looking forward to the 2nd one, assuming there's more comedy to mine from KISS' later output.

I don't know how I got so far behind. When I go away for work (I've been on road for 4 months) you'd think I'd bulldoze through podcast episodes but I never seem to.
I really gotta catch up.....

Tom enjoy the SketchFest.

Oh, I can only imagine. Hell, after I take a week's vacation I'm all "HOW AM I GONNA GET CAUGHT UP ON MY PODCASTS?!?!?!?". Ha ha...

Matter of fact, every one of my daily work playlists I've had in the last 6 weeks have all contained Doug Benson Content ( whether it's Doug Loves Movies/Minis, Dining With Doug And Karen, Getting Doug With High, or him guesting on another show ). And I think I'll be set for the whole next week coming up, too. I'm actually wondering how long I can push the streak at this point.

Mono, I used to be able to keep on top of things when I worked in NYC and had a 5hr train ride (round trip) into city from beach where I live every day. I listened to Doug Loves Movies & Rock Solid every week and for awhile Maron every week (now it's just if he has someone I wanna hear on and even then I FF through the 30minutes of Maron's nonsense at beginning of each show.) Ever since I stopped working in NYC and taking that train ride it's been harder to keep up on them. Rock Solid was the only one I still listened to each and every week. But now that I go on the road here and there I've fallen way behind. I think I haven't heard the last 10 episodes of Rock Solid. And now that they're longer it makes it even harder to catch up.

I listened to the Obama episode of WTF, but aside from that I couldn't tell you the last one I listened to. And yes, I always zip forward to the interview.

I'm lucky that I just sit at a computer all day, so I can listen to 6-7 hours of podcasts daily.

I have really grown to love Maron as an interviewer, much more so than when I first started listening, but i zip past the first 15 minutes everytime
