I'm not actually that familiar with them. Never heard anything that made me wanna dig deeper than the few tunes I've heard over the years.

This new record might be getting hyped because people are just glad that they're back. We'll see in a few months if fans are still so into the record.

I think a lot of the attention the album is getting is due in part to Carrie Brownstein's rise in the cool, hip, happening rankings since the last album. Portlandia really has made her an indie super star. I've only heard 1 or 2 songs from the new album. They're OK. I liked their last album 10 years ago.

That's a good point about Portlandia. I wonder if it will beef up the band's fan base.
